Tending the Temple and Wise Women

How is your haal? What is this haal that you inquire about?

I recently learned that this is how folks greet others in Arabic cultures.  How is your haal? What is this haal that you inquire about?  Or in English how is your heart doing at this very moment?

Something about this struck a chord with me. It is now my greeting of choice because it shows that I really want to hear what your heart is saying. We’ve let the cult of busyness cause us to become disconnected. We ask others how they’re doing without really caring for an answer, without really wanting to hear. And for the brave soul who decides to actually respond, we stare back stunned, because this person has chosen to believe we really have the time to listen or a genuine interest in what they have to say.

How is your heart?

At this moment, my heart feels rich and full of gratitude. There’s also some excitement in my heart about some new events that I am working on, like my first Cocktails & Conversations for 2018, a vegan-inspired event I’ve called Tending the Temple. I’m also excited about finally bringing Wise Women Foolish Choices, to light. This is something I have been meaning to do a year now.

I’ve been a bit quiet with Cocktails & Conversations and pretty much all events this year because of the other one-on-one and group work I’ve been doing. However, I’m pleased to say that in the month of May, you can expect a vegan-inspired meetup, Tending the Temple and a session designed to transform your key relationships, Wise Women Foolish Choices. Details on both events can be found below and you can register by clicking the event links.

Tending the Temple

In this vegan-inspired Cocktails & Conversations, we’ll be talking about fitness, the vegan diet, and self-care. Marcus and Kitaka, vegan chefs of Oracle Life Foods will be in-house preparing us vegans goodies. They will also be discussing the benefits of a vegan diet. Fitness instructor of Workout HutGail Seraneau will speak to us on developing a fitness regimen on a busy schedule. And I will lead the discussion on self-care. Please walk with business cards or an elevator speech on your brand or business.
